VIRGINIA

Virginia is a wonderful area to work and live. It is within close proximity to DC for many government jobs. Northern Virginia offers fantastic Parks/ Shopping/ Restaurants/ Parks for Recreation. The economy in Norhtern Virginia is still strong contrary to Nationwide Reports. Unemployment Rate for May 2011 in Virginia was 6.0%, according to Bureau of Labor and Statistics. This is well below the National Averate Rate of Unemployment of 9.1%.

Many government jobs and government contracting support jobs are located in and around Northern Virginia. It also offers several types of public transportation to commute to these jobs. Metro subways and Virginia Rail Express. Also Metro offers a busline and many towns offer additional. In addition there are several major highways 495,66, 267 for commuters to use. Currently there is construction going on to add a new Metro Subway from Tysons to Dulles which is expected to connect Dulles Airport to DC by the year 2016. 495 is currently under construction to add more lanes. The Woodrow Wilson Bridge (alexandria) recently completed adding 4 more lanes to and from MD.

We have many parks for your enjoyment all over Northern Virginia. Mount Vernon is the beautiful plantation of George Washington and is open to the public. The WOD trail is a wonderful bike path connecting Washington DC to Dominion Virginia it used to be a train track but has been turned into a smooth asphalt path for walkers and bikers. County Run parks and recreation centers are all over the state for your enjoyment.

MARYLAND

Maryland surrounds the Washington DC metropolitan area. It is a wonderful place for commuters to DC to live. Maryland offers respite from the hectic hustle and bustle of DC. Maryland has so much to offer from the Ocean Front of Ocean City MD to the beautiful mountains in McHenry, MD. Close in to DC and Baltimore you will find cities and towns that have developed and grown in size in the past 30 years.

Employment is strong in MD there is a trend of more tech jobs relocating to MD for 2012, creating competition for Virginia. The unemployment rate in MD was 6.8% according to the Department of Labor and Statistics as of May 2011. This number is 2.3% below the National Average Unemployment rate of 9.1%. This and its close proximity to the DC area is helping the unemployment rate decrease.
